Justin Quiles is learning a lesson the hard way in his new video. On Thursday, the Puerto Rican singer premiered the visual for his single “La Manzana” — which sees him getting robbed by his lover following a heist — with Rolling Stone.

The Fernando Lugo-directed cinematic video sees Quiles talking on the phone outside of a barber shop about meeting a woman he really likes and who’s willing to join him in his criminal ventures.

In the lyrics, Quiles describes his love interest — who helps him rob a jewelry store — as his “poisoned apple.” The pair drives away from the store a getaway car, before being seen inside of an empty bedroom kissing.

“‘La Manzana’ takes us into the next phase of this relationship, showcasing how sometimes in life, something so bad can feel so good,” he tells Rolling Stone of the visual. “But at the end of the day, we all pay the price. You won’t expect this one.”

After the steamy moment, the video reveals Quiles’ love interest taking all of the money she stole alongside Quiles and driving away with a different man. The singer is seen picking up a bitten apple as the words “to be continued” flash on screen.

“La Manzana” is the second of a trio of singles following “La Verde,” which Quiles released in mid-September.

“When it comes to this trilogy, I wanted to take my fans a different journey with me. I wanted to give an emotional and visual experience like none other they’ve seen in reggaeton,” Quiles says. “Right now, I’m very much focused on finding unique ways to tell the stories I want my fans to hear and see. The trilogy is definitely a sneak peak of what’s to come next from Justin Quiles.”

This year, Quiles has released numerous collaborations, including “Salvaje” with Mau y Ricky, “Fiesta Loca” with El Alfa,” and “Wazap” with Yng Lvcas. He’s also set to go on tour this year.
