Justin Long and Kate Bosworth Spend Christmas in Matching Sweaters Featuring Their Dog Happy

Justin Long and Kate Bosworth held "an impromptu and casual wedding" back in May

Justin Long and Kate Bosworth celebrated Christmas in meaningful matching sweaters.

The couple, who got married in May 2023 shortly after their engagement, shared photos of their Christmas Day outfits on Instagram. Bosworth, 40, and Long, 45, each sported Santa hats and black sweaters bearing the image of their dog, Happy.

"Wishing you all the Happy-est Holiday! 🎄 Love, The Bongs 😘," Bosworth wrote in a caption in her post. The couple can be seen posing with Happy between them; in one image, Long also holds the couple's cat to snap a family picture.

The couple's sweaters appeared to show Happy on a holiday-themed backdrop; below his image, the sweaters read "Merry Christmas" with the word "Merry" crossed out and "Happy" written below.

Bosworth shared images of her, Long and Happy posing together outdoors on Christmas Day on her Instagram Story. Another post shows the pooch laying down next to a pile of opened presents.

Long and Bosworth's Christmas marked their first as a married couple. They sparked relationship rumors at the tail end of 2021 and beginning of 2022; their love story was confirmed when they were spotted kissing on a beach during a trip to Kauai, Hawaii, in April 2022. Long made their relationship Instagram official the following month, and a source confirmed the couple's engagement to PEOPLE in March 2023.

The coule then held "an impromptu and casual wedding" in May, as a source told PEOPLE at the time.

Long revealed in November on Live with Kelly and Mark that he lost his wedding ring months after their wedding.

"I don’t have my ring on because I lost it, unfortunately," the Goosebumps star said during the talk-show appearance. When the audience groaned, Long added, "Oh, okay, I didn’t have to reveal that! I could have just said I left it backstage!"

Long also praised Bosworth, saying he feels "very lucky" to have her as his wife. He described having an instant connection with her when they first met: "Right away, I knew I was going to be friends with her forever. We got along so well. I know it sounds so generic."

In June, Bosworth paid tribute to Long for his birthday, writing on Instagram that "our world is better and brighter" because of him.

She added at the time, "Every morning I am filled with excitement to open my eyes because I know they will greet my favorite smile and every evening, I fight sleep because I never want to leave you and the joy we experience in the day, even to the dream world. To know you is to love you Justin Jakob. You are my Christopher Robin forever."
