‘It Was Just A Normal Day,’ Says Father Of Summer Wells About The Day She Disappeared

Five-year-old Summer Wells vanished from her home in rural Tennessee on June 15, 2021. “It was just a normal day,” says Summer’s father, Don, who was working late. Summer’s mother, Candus, who was home with her mother and the couple’s four children, says the last time she saw her daughter was when Summer went into the house with her brothers after helping to plant flowers outside. “After I came into the house, I asked the boys where she was, and they said she went downstairs to play.” Candus says she went to the basement to look for her daughter but quickly realized Summer wasn’t there. Don and Candus say they believe someone came through a wooded trail near their home and abducted Summer. After first searching for the child themselves, then calling the police, what do the missing girl’s parents say they did next?
