Ronald Gladden’s star continues to rise in Hollywood, following his achievements on the surprise hit series Jury Duty, a top-secret docu-style comedy created by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. He has signed a two-year overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios to produce, develop, and star in a variety of content.

Gladden unknowingly made his TV debut in the Amazon Freevee project he believed was taking part in a docuseries chronicling the inner workings of an American jury trial. Everyone working on Jury Duty was aware they were involved in a fake court case except for Gladden, who up until his casting was a solar contractor originally from Oregon.

“Words cannot express how excited I am to officially be a part of the Amazon family,” Gladden shared in a statement. “Jury Duty was a remarkable experience for me and one that introduced me to so many creative and inspiring people. I’m now looking forward to utilizing those new relationships to develop projects for Amazon MGM Studios.”

The series earned four Emmy Award nominations including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing & Casting and a Supporting Actor nod for James Marsden.

Gladden made his first move into expanding his “good guy” brand in Hollywood by securing Artists First as his management team, as Deadline reported exclusively in May. He previously told Deadline that, although not an actor, he was setting up a team with whom he could move into the next phase of his career while staying true to who he is and what he believes.

“At the heart of Jury Duty was a story about the power of human kindness, selflessness, and empathy,” said Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD; unscripted and targeted programming, Amazon MGM Studios. “Ronald exemplified this in his ability to genuinely connect with everyone around him, no matter their background, celebrity, or idiosyncrasies. We’re excited to collaborate with Ronald and create more opportunities to bring joy, positivity, and inspiration to Amazon customers.”

Gladden is repped by Artists First and Ziffren Brittenham.
