Jurnee Smollett Opts for Sculpted Hips in Little White Dress for ‘Jennifer Hudson Show,’ Talks Parenting and More

Jurnee Smollett made an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” airing on Monday. The actress opened up about motherhood, discussed her 7-year-old son and being a former child actress with the eponymous talk show host.

For the occasion, Smollett fashioned a cream, long-sleeve minidress courtesy of Camilla and Marc. The modern dress combined sleek elegance with contemporary flair. The minidress featured a high-neckline and sculpted hips, with fabric gathered at the center of the bodice for a flattering silhouette.

Smollett paired the dress with a set of peep-toe taupe heels. She completed the look by opting for minimal jewelry, fashioning a pair of silver hoop earrings. Smollett’s long brown tresses were styled in a flowing look, with a section of her hair swooping over her forehead to frame her face. As for her makeup, Smollett kept it clean and simple, with a soft lip and subtle eyeliner.

The former child star’s penchant for elegant pieces with a modern twist isn’t just limited to her recent appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” For “The 1619 Project” Los Angeles premiere in January 2023, Smollett fashioned a look on the opposite end of the color spectrum.

Smollett fashioned a black sweater with a mock neckline under a bustier top, and a black miniskirt with dramatic pleating for a monochrome look. She paired the ensemble with thigh-high black boots by Le Silla. When it came to her makeup for the red carpet event, Smollett added a pop of color with a classic bold red lip.

Smollett is among a bevy of stars opting to take classic silhouettes and give them an edgy or contemporary twist. More recently, stars like Gabrielle Union and Sydney Sweeney put their own individual spins on the little black dress, with Sweeney opting for a Miu Miu look with hip exposures.
