EXCLUSIVE: Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, Robert Morgan and Grant Harvey have joined the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios and Artists Equity feature The Accountant 2, the sequel to the 2016 thriller. Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons and Cynthia Addai-Robinson are reprising their roles, with Gavin O’Connor returning as director. Bill Dubuque penned the script.

The film follows Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina (Addai-Robinson), who after her boss is murdered by unknown assassins is forced to contact Christian Wolff (Affleck) to solve the murder. With the help of his estranged but lethal brother Brax (Bernthal), Chris applies his brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods to piece together the unsolved puzzle.

As they get closer to the truth, the trio draws the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive — all intent on putting a stop to their search.

Artists Equity, which serves as the studio on The Accountant 2, acquired sequel rights from Warner Bros and brought the movie to Amazon MGM. Artists Equity’s Affleck and Matt Damon, 51 Entertainment’s Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams will produce. Executive producers include Artists Equity’s Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe and Alison Winter along with Scott LaStaiti and Jamie Patricof.

The Accountant was released by Warner Bros in 2016, earning $155 million at the worldwide box office; it was the most-rented digital film of 2017.

Pineda was recently seen starring opposite Gerard Butler, Tony Goldwyn and Mike Colter in Plane for Lionsgate and Di Bonaventura Pictures. She also starred in the Walking Dead anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead, as well as Netflix’s adaptation of Cowboy Bebop opposite John Cho. Pineda reprised her role from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in the 2022 summer pic Jurassic World: Dominion. She is represented by UTA, Ames/Hashagen Entertainment, and attorney Isaac Dunham.

Robertson is best known for her short films including Fear to be Brave, The Lost Ones and Love Transparent.

Morgan is best known for his roles in films including Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, Hacksaw Ridge and The Boys in the Boat for Amazon MGM. On the series side, he has had appearances in HBO’s Westworld, Showtime’s George & Tammy and Netflix’s The OA. Morgan is represented by Bohemia Group and Mavrick Artists Agency.

Harvey can be seen in Antoine Fuqua’s Emancipation and with Tim Blake Nelson in the feature Asleep In My Palm. In the past year, Harvey has also had major recurring arcs on Netflix’s Monster: Jeffrey Dahmer, CBS’ Fire Country, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on Prime Video, and ABC’s Station 19. He is represented by Allegory Creative Management, AFA Prime Talent Media, and the law firm of Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.

The Accountant 2 will mark the fourth feature from Artists Equity and Amazon MGM Studios joining the documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told; the Golden Globe-nominated sports drama Air, which was released last year; and the upcoming Unstoppable, based on the true story of Anthony Robles.
