Jurassic Park trio reunite as Jurassic World: Dominion resumes filming after COVID delays

The Jurassic World: Dominion team is gonna try this one again.

Original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum reassembled on the set of the next sequel, ending the latest production delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Director Colin Trevorrow shared the photo on social media, while production company Amblin Entertainment confirmed "the Jurassic World cast and crew are back to work, with the spirit of a legend watching over them while they create together."

That spirit belongs to the late Richard Attenborough, who played John Hammond in the early Jurassic Park films. Attenborough died in 2014 at the age of 90. Neill, Dern, and Goldblum are seen posing in front of the stage at Pinewood Studios in the U.K. dedicated to the actor's name.

Universal Pictures was forced to pause filming on Dominion for two weeks, which began at the beginning of the month after "a small amount of positive tests for COVID-19" emerged among the crew, according to a studio statement. Further tests of those workers turned up negative, but because of the safety protocols in place, they still shut down for the time being.

This marks the end of the second major delay to affect the film as a result of the pandemic. Filming initial paused in March as the first of the shelter-in-place ordinances were put into effect in the U.S. and U.K. In the face of so many uncertainties, Universal pushed the planned theatrical release for Dominion to June 10, 2022.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard lead the cast, which includes Mamadou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Daniella Pineda, Campbell Scott, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, DeWanda Wise, and B.D. Wong.
