JUNG_E is a 2023 South Korean science fiction film set in the 22nd century, on an uninhabitable Earth plagued with war and destruction. Humans are forced to live in shelters and spaces. Now, it is up to a researcher to clone the brain of a heroic soldier to end the civil war.

Climate warming has rendered Earth uninhabitable, resulting in civil conflict in man-made bunkers. Captain Yun Jung-yi, a mercenary, participates in a brain cloning project conducted by Kronoid, an AI institute, in order to pay for her daughter’s lung tumor treatment. However, she fails her task and ends up in a coma. Thirty-five years later, Kronoid clones Jung-yi’s brain to create an AI mercenary called Jung_E.

Dr. Yun Seo-hyun, now the team head of the research project Jung_E, wants to remember Jung-yi as a hero rather than a failure. Seo-hyun finds that her cancer has returned and she has three months to survive. With a peace treaty approaching, Kronoid changes its concentration from battle AI to domestic services. After discovering a team member using a Jung_E model as a sex robot, Seo-hyun flees with a Jung_E robot and is pursued by other robots and security forces.

The main cast includes Kang Soo-youn as Yun Seo-hyun, Kim Hyun-joo as Yun Jung-yi/Jung_E/Captain Yun, Ryu Kyung-soo as Sang-hun, Park So-yi as young Yun Seo-hyun and Uhm Ji-won as Lee Se-yeon.
