June TV Premieres: 14 New Shows to Look Out for This Month
And so TV enters an Adaptation Month. It’s certainly not an anomaly these days for networks and platforms to turn to preexisting source material for “new” series, but the next few weeks really run the gamut.
In addition to the usual glut of shows based on novels and memoirs and the Tudors, there are a few less-than-traditional updates of stories that have already made it to screens. Aside from the additional trips to a British TV original and a 25-years-later update of a European arthouse classic, toss in a full-season riff on “The Last Dance” and this is a month that kicks off the new Emmy eligibility calendar with its share of surprises.

As usual, this collection spans a variety of sources, from broadcast to streaming and the steps in between. And, as mandated by federal law, we also have a monthly addition to the Disney+ IP corral — this time with a promising spin on the comic book show — and a handful of shows that premiered elsewhere overseas in the past few months.
