Blame it on the Power of Invincibility. Since Thursday’s live eviction episode of “Big Brother 25” ended with nobody going home, host Julie Chen Moonves made a “promise” to viewers at the end of the hour that someone would definitely be leaving next week. For those that missed the jam-packed episode, Matt Klotz won America’s Power of Invincibility and chose to use it to save Jag Bains from elimination. That meant nobody went home, and all 13 players (including outgoing Head of Household Cameron Hardin) would soon be playing in the upcoming HOH competition.

Julie closed out the live episode by rattling off the upcoming “BB25” schedule, saying that a new Head of Household would be crowned on Sunday and that the Veto comp would be played on Wednesday. “Then on Thursday,” she continued, “a live eviction sends a houseguest packing … I promise.”

It’s possible that the Power of Invincibility twist was created to make up for the fact that Luke Valentine was expelled from the house the first week for using the N-word. That left the 100-day competition down one contestant from the get-go. Many viewers suspected that “Big Brother” would not go through with that week’s first elimination, but on the contrary, Kirsten Elwin ended up being sent home by a unanimous vote over Felicia Cannon.

Kirsten was later followed out the door by Reilly Smedley in Week 2 and Hisam Goueli in Week 3, and Jag received the most votes in Week 4, but again, he didn’t actually leave because of Matt utilizing his Power of Invincibility. Matt won the advantage after being voted by viewers as one of four people to play in the secret comp, with the others being Cirie Fields, Cory Wurtenberger and Jag.

Season 25 of “Big Brother” has been full of twists so far. In addition to the Power of Invincibility, the houseguests also experience constant Multiverse disruptions in the form of the Comic-verse, Humili-verse, Scary-verse and Scramble-verse. And don’t forget, “Survivor” legend Cirie’s very existence in the game is because of a twist, as she is really the mother of Jared Fields.
