Julianne Hough Wants This ABC Host to Compete on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Dancing With the Stars is famous for bringing on personalities from ABC to participate in the popular TV competition, from Good Morning America stars to members of Bachelor Nation. But one person from the network is on the mind of host Julianne Hough, and she'd love to see her put on her dancing shoes for the world to see.

In an interview with People published on May 14, the TV personality got candid about who she'd love to see join Dancing With the Stars season 33. She revealed her dream of seeing Live With Kelly and Mark host Kelly Ripa join the cast, stating there were multiple reasons that make her a great potential competitor for the show.

"I feel like Kelly Ripa would be an amazing person on the show because she's a dancer, she's vivacious. She would pick it up," she told the outlet at Disney's upfront event. "She would have so much fun with it. She wouldn't take herself too seriously. So I'm rooting for Kelly to come on."

Although it may seem like a surprise to hear Kelly's name being tossed around, fans may remember that Kelly actually started her TV career with dancing.

She initially appeared in 1986 as a series regular on the local TV series Dancin' on Air, which later got picked up by USA Network and was renamed Dance Party USA. She also got her start at hosting on the show, as she reported on cast news throughout her six-year stint.

What's more, Kelly has had fans wanting her to join Dancing With the Stars, thanks to her dancing on social media. Back in December 2022, she had folks begging her to hit the ballroom dance floor when she posted a collage of videos featuring her dancing as a form of working out on Instagram. She also included a disco ball in the clip, hinting she may be interested in being the next group of celebrities to compete.

"Danced my way through 2022," she captioned the video at the time.

While we don't know who will be competing on Dancing With the Stars season 33, let's keep our fingers crossed Kelly makes an appearance!
