Julian Edelman and Tom Brady Go on Adorable Disney World Date After Super Bowl 2019 Win

Tom Brady and Julian Edelman are trading in their cleats and pads for lightsabers and Jedi robes.

Following the New England Patriots’ 13-3 Super Bowl win against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, the quarterback and wide receiver — who won the title of game MVP — headed down to Walt Disney World in Florida to celebrate the sixth time their team has secured the Vince Lombardi trophy.

On Monday, Edelman, 32, posted a picture of himself and the father of three, 41, holding up lightsabers and wearing brown robes near the park’s upcoming new Star Wars attraction, Galaxy’s Edge.

“These are not the droids you are looking for…” the athlete captioned the silly shot, adding the hashtag, “#WaltDisneyWorld.”

Also on their trip, the teammates went on the new Toy Story ride — which prompted them to ask each other “Who’s Buzz Lightyear and who’s Woody?” They later engaged in a brief lightsaber battle, posed for pictures, cheered with the crowds and signed some autographs. Edelman showed off all of the fun on his Instagram story.

In a clip that kicked of the series of posts, Edelman — sitting next to Brady — says, “Where are we?”

Brady responds, “Disney,” and Edelman jumps in to finish his answer, “World.”

Then Brady quips, “Too bad our little girls aren’t here with us.” Brady has a 6-year-old daughter, Vivian Lake, and Edelman is dad to a 2-year-old girl named Lily.

“There you go! Congratulations!” he says in a clip as she leans in for a hug from the girl.

Edelman opened up about winning the title of MVP at the 53rd Super Bowl on Monday morning to Todays Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.

“I didn’t go to bed, but it still doesn’t seem that real,” Edelman replied.

“Honestly I haven’t had a real moment to sit back and kind of think about it,” he continued, noting, “The grind of a football season is so mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting, especially after playing a game like that, I’m really just kind of tired and just want to go home and relax on the couch.”

In addition to helping his team beat the Los Angeles Rams with a score of 13-3, he became the second-leading receiver in NFL playoffs history as of Sunday’s game.

The player made 10 catches throughout the game, gaining his team 141 yards in total, according to ESPN.

Following the game, Edelman described receiving the MVP award an “absolute honor,” according to The Boston Globe.

“But honestly, I’m just so proud of the group of guys that we had this year, the ups and downs we had just with the ebbs and flows of the season. Play a whole year, you see how a team shapes up, see how this team grinded and worked each week, when things weren’t at its best, constantly try to go out and improve just shows what kind of group of guys it was this year, the 2018 Patriots. A resilient group, one that you’re never going to forget. It was unbelievable,” he said.

Asked what Brady said to him after his win, Edelman replied, “He just said he was proud of me.”

“That was big. He’s been an unbelievable guy to learn from, as a football player, as a professional, as a family man. The guy’s all in,” he remarked.

Of Brady, he told Today, “He’s kind of shaped me with how he lead by example, honestly. … It’s been a privilege to get to watch one of sports greatest athletes prepare and get to play with him honestly. … It’s a dream, I remember being in eighth grade saying ‘I’m Tom Brady’ on the asphalt at recess, you know, playing football.”

According to Sports Illustrated, Brady and Edelman have connected for 30 touchdowns during their nine seasons together.
