Julia Stiles Secretly Welcomed Her Third Child Five Months Ago

She's already a mom to sons Strummer and Arlo.

Julia Stiles has been keeping a big secret. In a new interview with The New York Times published on Wednesday, the actress — who is a mom to sons Strummer, 6, and 2-year-old Arlo – revealed that she privately welcomed her third child with husband Preston Cook sometime last year. 

"I’m kind of like a bundle of emotions because I have a 5-month-old baby and I went into directing my first movie," she told the publication, referring to her directorial debut for the film Wish You Were Here, which recently wrapped production in February. She admitted that she "didn't really talk about" her pregnancy and neglected to share the baby's sex or name. 

However, she did open up about her experience with motherhood and how it prepared her for her latest role as a director. “I think that actually being a mom is really great training for being a director,” Stiles continued. “You have to think 10 steps ahead but also be in the present moment. You have to be good at time management. You have to be sensitive to people’s needs and guide them, but also hold a boundary."

“I am running on fumes in terms of sleep,” Stiles added. “But I feel more energized than I ever have.”

Stiles and her husband met on the set of the 2015 movie Go With Me, before getting married in September 2017 when she was pregnant with their first child. "Who doesn't love a shotgun wedding?" Stiles wrote on Instagram alongside a photo from their beach wedding that showcased her growing belly.

Four years later, they welcomed their second son, Arlo, announcing his arrival with a sweet snap of his feet. "Welcome to the world, Baby Arlo! ✨," Stiles wrote. "The newest addition to our family, reminding me how infinite love can be. 💖."
