The intensity of shonen anime comes from its very own title. Shōnen, which means a youthful young man, has produced a wide range of male leads, such as the tough muscleman Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star or the cheerful outgoing Goku from Dragon Ball. It is essential to write female characters in shōnen anime with an equal amount of skill because they are just as loved by girls and women worldwide. They do not have to be flawless; however, they should give more than mere spectacle’ through their action. Fortunately, some shōnen anime series still contain independent, solid female protagonists. One of them is Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami, which features one of the best character arcs ever for a female in an anime.

She brings a version of rebellion, born weak and injured by her birthright, into the story of Jujutsu Kaisen. Being born into the Zen’in Clan line, Maki was born without energy, so in the world of jujutsu, she was at a very major disadvantage. She even takes this glaring weakness and turns it around to be her greatest power—a focus on physical ability and mastery of cursed tools. Maki’s story is nothing short of irresistible as she goes on to show open rebellion against the strict and traditional confinements of family and social expectations. Its story speaks to themes of breaking out of oppressive structures and making a unique way for oneself, and hence, it inspires many fans.

She is a special-grade sorcerer, embodies enigma and strength in Jujutsu Kaisen. She is very much the casual girl, at times even bordering on nonchalance. However, there is real wisdom in dealing with all the bustle of the world of jujutsu and cursed energy under that mask. She is not only a powerhouse of strength but also one among those visionaries who are vying for more profound changes in the energy dynamics, which has been cursed.

Bringing Yuki’s character into the series adds a deeper layer that develops and illuminates the series. This results in causing conversations and theories about her true motives or suggestions from more extensive meanings of what she does.

Nobara Kugisaki

She was a character that epitomized independence and defiance to the core. Yuki felt no repentance for being as self-reliant and independent as she was confident without falling into gender traps. She has a unique style of combat. From a hammer and nails combined with cursed energy, all combined in an ungodly manner. Her story is an intense story of self-identity, resilience, and assertion of femininity in a world dominated by males.

Utahime Lori

As a teacher at Kyoto Jujutsu High, Utahime Iori provides a nuanced perspective on the series’ events and dynamics. Considering this, her position is not much less important than that of the warrior, who is supposed to stand in front significantly more than her.

Her interactions, especially with the likes of Gojo Satoru, add to the storyline, and relatively. They add some insights into the professional and personal interactions within the Jujutsu Society. The characters of Utahime depict the guidance, experiences, and sometimes the selfless services they get from the people who shape and train generations of sorcerers.

Mai Zen’in

Like Maki and her twin, Mai Zen’in also performed terribly in her own house. She had superior innate witchcraft than Maki but was still below the family average. Still, she would have been satisfied being under their thumb if only Maki had kept her promise to be with Mai through thick and thin. However, when Maki moved to Jujutsu High, things changed drastically.

She felt tricked and trapped by studying for a job that she hated. This caused her to vent out fury on classmates, who mainly targeted Maki. Strangely enough, this girl hated sorcery so much that she would instead use guns rather than magic wands or broomsticks. She is not evil because she is unkind. Instead, it is because she has been wronged that we feel sympathy for her tragic fate.
