The Juice Box to host performance by Buffalo Rose, top winner of International Acoustic Music Awards

May 21—The Juice Box Public House in downtown Centralia is set to host a performance by Buffalo Rose, winner of the overall grand prize at the International Acoustic Music Awards and the Best of Pittsburgh's Best Alt-Folk/Alt-Country Band, at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 23.

Buffalo Rose will be "delivering their rich, charismatic vocal harmonies and meticulously arranged stringband melodies to Centralia for the first time," The Juice Box Public House wrote in a news release.

No Depression, An American folk/Americana magazine, wrote, "Listening to Buffalo Rose is like driving on the open road with the windows down, letting the breeze wash over you. Delicate and wild, thorny and untamed, Buffalo Rose weaves spiraling harmonies and gorgeously layered instrumentation with propulsive rhythms as it creates a mesmerizing wall of sound that leaves listeners breathless. There's a singular beauty in every Buffalo Rose song."

Joining Buffalo Rose for Thursday's concert will be the bluegrass band Fog Holler from Portland.

"If you enjoy that classic nostalgia of mid-century bluegrass legends like Bill Monroe or Earl Scruggs, you won't want to miss Fog Holler's driving banjo and ripping fiddle," The Juice Box wrote.

The concert will be held at The Juice Box Public House, 216 S. Tower Ave., Centralia. Doors open at 6 p.m.Cocktails and dinner by Juice Box chef Carson Lotton will be available for purchase in the concert hall.
