JT initiates her own lane in her latest release. On Friday (Jan. 31), the Miami-bred rapper shared her first solo track of the year “Sideways,” signaling a new creative chapter in her music career. In the viral song, the 31-year-old makes it clear that her authenticity and attitude are both not to be played with.

Directed by Mango Maat with creative direction from Sun-Ny Side Up (SSU), the visual finds JT in luxury rides and under the spotlight poised in posh outfits, including the Jacki-O-inspired look featured on the track’s cover art.

“Sideways is a mood! Sometimes women are forced to be friends with everyone and if we decide to stay to our self they call us mean,” explains JT in a statement. “Most of these bi**hes nosey and phony! I love my bi**hes, though The real ones. Shout out to the real bi**hes!”

The Ben10k and Danes Blood-produced track prefaces a new solo EP from JT. The project is set to be her first official body of work outside of her music with Yung Miami as one half of the City Girls duo.

“I’m excited about dropping solo music because I can focus more on my creativity. I love everything about being an artist!” detailed the “No Bars” performer. “I just wanna chill, look good, and drop pretty cocky bi**h music. I’m the City Cinderella!”
