Longtime Milwaukee news anchor Joyce Garbaciak is cutting back on her workload to spend more time with her family.

WISN-TV (Channel 12) said Friday that Garbaciak will no longer co-anchor the Milwaukee ABC affiliate's 10 p.m. newscast while continuing to co-anchor the station's 6 p.m. news with Patrick Paolantonio.

Paolantonio will fly solo as anchor of the 10 p.m. newscast until Channel 12 identifies Garbaciak's replacement.

“This is a best-of-both-worlds scenario for me," Garbaciak said in a statement. "I can continue to be part of Milwaukee’s top news team — producing stories and bringing Milwaukee viewers the news of the day. And there are many exciting changes happening on the family front — and this schedule will allow me to have a bigger presence there.”

Garbaciak joined Channel 12 in 2006 as a contributing correspondent. She became a news anchor at the station in 2014. Before her time at Channel 12, she was a reporter and anchor at Milwaukee's WITI-TV (Channel 6) from 1988 to 2005; before that, she had stints at WSAW-TV in Wausau and WTVF-TV in Nashville, Tenn.
