Joy Behar says we don't need a 'comeback' from Billy Bush: 'Everybody is replaceable'

During The View on Tuesday, Joy Behar weighed in on the news that former Access Hollywood host Billy Bush is making a “comeback” as the host of the entertainment news program Extra, asking, “Why does Billy Bush have to come back? You mean there aren’t 10 other people who could do that job and interview Honey Boo Boo?” Bush was fired from Access Hollywood in 2016 after audio of a conversation between him and Donald Trump leaked and revealed the then-presidential candidate’s brags about groping women. In an interview with CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King, Bush addressed the controversy surrounding his 2016 firing and called his new gig “returning to my love ... I’m very grateful to return to what I love to do.” Behar, meanwhile, said that other high-profile men who have lost their jobs because of accusations of bad behavior shouldn’t try to get back into the spotlight. “They all want to come back,” she said. “Charlie Rose wants to come back, Mark Halperin wants to come back, Matt Lauer — I say these people are interchangeable. Everybody is replaceable.” Fellow View panelist Whoopi Goldberg didn’t hold back when she expressed her thoughts on “cancel culture,” which she says has impacted her personally. “You always have to make sure the person you’re canceling is guilty. Having been one who has been on the other side of ‘cancel culture’ and people said ‘I don’t like her policies or her politics’ and then be prevented from working for seven years, you gotta really be careful. “People believe you when you say certain things,” she added. “Do your homework.”
