Joy Behar is celebrating 81 years on Earth in signature Joy Behar fashion: with a shrug.

"Whatever," the comedian and longtime panelist replied on Friday's episode of The View, hanging her head when cohost Sara Haines exclaimed they were celebrating Behar's big day (her birthday is Saturday). Ana Navarro also expressed deep excitement for her cohost's birthday after the show went all-out with a giant banner featuring the star's face.

"Let's just do the show. I can't get excited. I'm just glad I'm alive, okay?" Behar said while the audience applauded. "You get to the point where you wake up in the morning and you just say, 'I'm still here? My God.'"

Behar has long been open about her love-hate relationship with celebrating her birthday live on the air.

"I'm embracing my age. I'm not embracing the natural look, but, I am embracing my age, primarily because it's all over the internet anyway, so, who are you fooling?" Behar said on Thursday's episode of the show's Behind the Table companion podcast. "I am what I am. I don't enjoy the idea that I'm getting closer to the Grim Reaper, but then I read obituaries continuously in the New York Times, and there's a lot of people in their thirties dying, and forties, from what have you. So, I'm privileged to get older. I'm enjoying these years."

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET.
