Joshua Jackson Steps Out for Groceries amid Divorce from Jodie Turner-Smith

The 'Queen & Slim' star filed for divorce from the 'Dawson's Creek' actor over the weekend

Joshua Jackson was photographed on Thursday while grocery shopping amid his divorce from ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith.

In the recent photos, the Dawson's Creek alum was seen at a Los Angeles Whole Foods, while shopping at the grocer alone.

Turner-Smith filed for divorce from the actor on Sunday after more than four years of marriage. The Queen & Slim actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the legal grounds for their divorce.

The pair married in 2019 and share one daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson, who was born in April 2020. Turner-Smith has requested the court grant the former couple joint custody of their three-year-old, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The Sex Education star also asked that neither parties receive spousal support and Jackson pay her attorney fees. While the “exact nature and extent” of the duo’s separate and community properties are unknown to the actress at this time, she requested the court allow her to “amend” her filing as those details become determined.

Ahead of Turner-Smith’s Oct. 1 filing, the couple were seen together on multiple occasions throughout September. Jackson celebrated the British model’s 37th birthday on Sept. 9 in New York City.

However, the actress’ birthday Instagram post included a carousel of party attendees, with Jackson noticeably absent from the photos.

"As i embark on another new year, i can’t help but meditate on love and it’s many manifestations," she captioned the post. “love is not some lofty unattainable thing. love is a gesture, a look, an intention. love is community. love is showing up.”

The post concluded with the actress thanking those near and far, writing, “thank you to all of you who showed up for me this week in new york— in spirit and in the flesh. i don’t take any of this for granted, and most of all, i don’t take any of you for granted.”

The pair were also spotted at New York Fashion Week and helped launch the Lotus Emeya electric vehicle on Sept. 6.

Turner-Smith listed Sept. 13, as her day of separation from Jackson in a divorce petition obtained by PEOPLE. Two weeks after the date of separation, Turner-Smith went solo to the Albie Awards hosted by George Clooney on Sept. 28 at the New York Public Library.

During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the self-proclaimed Dawson's Creek fan revealed to Meyers that the couple first met at Usher's 40th birthday party in 2018.

A year later in August 2019, Jackson and Turner-Smith sparked rumors of an imminent wedding when they appeared to pick up a marriage license in Beverly Hills, California. PEOPLE later confirmed that the pair tied the knot in December 2019.

"When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand," Turner-Smith told Seth Meyers in 2021. "We're in a two, three-year one-night stand now."

This was the first marriage for both actors.
