Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong'o have been spotted out together as they're experiencing major shifts in their love lives.

On Wednesday, the Dawson’s Creek alum stepped out for the Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles, where he was photographed alongside the Oscar-winning actress and other friends. Photos posted by TMZ on Thursday show the pair standing close to each other in the audience. However, the two actors didn’t appear to be cozying up or canoodling with one another.

PEOPLE has reached out to Jackson and Nyong'o's reps for comment.

Jackson, 45, has been in the news recently after his wife of more than three years, Jodie Turner-Smith, filed for divorce at the start of October. She cited "irreconcilable differences” as the reasons for their separation.

A source told PEOPLE it was Turner-Smith’s idea to end the relationship after she “decided she is done.”

”They are on very different paths in life,” the source shared, later adding, “It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy.”

Jackson has not commented publicly on the divorce. The exes have one child together — daughter Juno Rose Diana Jackson, who was born in April 2020.

As for Nyong’o, 40, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actress had been romantically linked to Selema Masekea. They went public with their relationship in December 2022, and she last posted a birthday tribute to Masekea at the end of August. The Instagram post, which was captured by PEOPLE, appears to have been deleted.

Nyong'o announced their breakup on Instagram Thursday. In the lengthy post, she noted that while "there are much more important things going on in the world right now," she felt "it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust."

"I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception," she said.

Though Nyong'o has felt the urge to "run into the shadows and hide" amid the heartbreak, she said: "I am reminded that the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity for love. And so, I am choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass."

She shared the personal news "to keep it 💯, and hoping that the knowledge of my experience might be useful to someone else out there experiencing the grip of heartbreak who is poised to try and escape from the pain and miss out on the wisdom that comes from it. #Breakup."

Rumors once swirled that Nyong’o was actually dating Monae — the artist she saw perform alongside Jackson on Wednesday night. The longtime friends were thrown into the spotlight as potential lovers, but Nyong’o declared they were just platonic pals.

Nyong’o "was not surprised" by the rumors, as she told Rolling Stone: “She has [a] magnetism that they were obviously picking up on. She is that enigmatic. People are curious about enigmatic people. I was not surprised."

The Academy Award winner also said she does not "mind being associated with [Monae] in any capacity.”
