Josh Stewart, Christopher Lloyd Starring in ‘Cold Moon’

Josh Stewart and Christopher Lloyd are starring in the supernatural revenge drama “Cold Moon” with shooting starting later this month in Louisiana, Variety has learned exclusively.

Griff Furst directs from a script he wrote with Jack Snyder, based on the 1980 novel “Cold Moon Over Babylon” by Michael McDowell (“Beetlejuice” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas”).

Furst produces under his Curmudgeon Films banner. Pixel Magic is handling special effects.

“Cold Moon” also stars Robbie Kay, Candy Clark, Frank Whaley, Rachele Brooke Smith, Laura Cayouette and Sarah Catherine.

“Cold Moon” takes place in tiny Babylon, Fla., where the granddaughter of Clark’s character is murdered by a mysterious assailant, her body sunk into the black waters of the Styx River — the river where her parents disappeared from their boat a decade earlier. Suspicion falls on a duplicitous banker and his wealthy father, played by Stewart and Lloyd.

Stewart recently provided the voice of the robot in “Interstellar” and had a recurring role on “Criminal Minds.”
