Josh Hutcherson is aware of his viral whistle meme.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, host Fallon informed the Five Nights at Freddy’s actor that despite not being active on social media, he’s still “very much all over the internet” due to a whistle meme that has gone viral.

“I had no idea it existed, and then my girlfriend posted it,” Hutcherson explained of the TikTok meme. After noting that the memes have nothing to do with actually whistling, the actor further explained that the photos are “an edit of a montage of photos that somebody did in 2014, and they put it to a song.”

Hutcherson’s whistle edit meme seemingly came from a YouTube video posted nine years ago that showcases a montage of Hutcherson posing for photos and clips of the actor, set to Flo Rida’s 2012 song “Whistle.”

“Now it’s like a Rick Roll,” he said. “You think you’re going to watch a recipe. They open up the pot and it’s my face, and the whistle starts … it’s ridiculous.”

He also shared that his little brother and his brother’s boyfriend even explained the online trend in depth while together for the holidays.

He described the memes as “very creative” and “very odd,” adding, “I’m here for it.”

When Fallon showed him a clip of President Joe Biden drinking from mug in which Hutcherson’s face appears with the whistle tune, Hutcherson quipped, “I’ll be under Joe’s mug anytime.”
