Actor Josh Hutcherson, who grew up in Union, Kentucky, spoke during an interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" about the so-called "whistle edit meme" that went viral on TikTok after a 2014 YouTube video included a montage of Hutcherson photos set to Flo Rida's "Whistle."

"I know that you're not really on social media that much," Fallon started, "but I'm sure you know that the internet wins. The internet just wins."

"Wins and wins," Hutcherson replied.

"It just wins, yeah," Fallon said. "And you even not being on the internet doesn't stop you from being on the internet. You're very much all over the internet."

"Apparently," Hutcherson answered. "Yeah, there's like this whistle thing."

"The Josh Hutcherson memes," Fallon continued, "The whistle edit meme. Do you guys know this? They know it."

"Forget making movies," Hutcherson joked. "Don't make movies."

"If you're on TikTok, if you're a star, you got it. You got it made," Fallon said. "Do people come up to you on the street and sing Flo Rida to you?"

"I had no idea it existed, and then my girlfriend posted it," Hutcherson responded.

"It has nothing really to do with you whistling or anything," Fallon said.

"Yeah, exactly," Hutcherson said. "No. No. The internet wins again. These photos are some like edit of like a montage of photos that somebody did in 2014. And they put it to a song. And now it's like a 'Rickroll' basically. Now it's like you think you're gonna like watch a recipe. They open up the pot and … my face. And then the whistle starts and it's just like it's ridiculous. My little brother and his boyfriend actually sat me down during the holidays and were like, 'Okay, you don't live on the internet. We need to explain this to you.' And they just started going through. And they are very creative, very odd, and I'm here for it. It's great, yeah."
