Audra Mari and Josh Duhamel are hoping their baby on the way is the first of many.

In a clip from his upcoming appearance on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, the Transformers star, 50, opens up about his and pregnant wife Audra Mari's hopes for the future.

When Bensinger says that the actor's sister, Ashlee Duhamel, shared that Josh "always wanted to have eight or nine kids," he replies, "That was when I was much younger."

"I will say, the age thing doesn't normally come into conversation, but it definitely does when speaking of having babies," Mari comments. "I really do believe he would have five more kids if he was even 40 right now. It's probably true. We'll definitely have a few though. Hopefully, God willing."

"That's the hope," Josh adds.

The couple announced that they are expecting their first baby together last month in a joint Instagram post.

In a photo where Mari held ultrasound photos, the caption read: "Baby Duhamel coming soon 🤍."

Duhamel is already dad to son Axl, whom he shares with ex Fergie. The actor's son had a sweet reaction to hearing he's going to be a big brother. "He's like, 'Wait, now, am I going to be — You're still going to love me, though, too, right?' ” Duhamel said in an interview with Parade.

“I was like, 'Of course, I'm going to still love you.' And he's like, 'I'm still going to be your firstborn son, though, right?' I'm like, 'Yeah, you're still the firstborn son!' ” the Shotgun Wedding actor added.

"He's a really sweet kid. And he loves babies!" the father said. "I was the same way at his age. I just have always loved babies. There's something about them. And he's really good with younger kids. So I think he's going to be a great older brother."

Last month, Duhamel appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark and discussed his second run with fatherhood and how Axl feels about his growing family.

"Does Axl know?" Ripa, 52, asked.

"He does know! He's excited," Duhamel admitted. "He's very excited. I don't think he quite understands that it's actually real. He will once he sees this little thing in front of him. I think I'm probably the same."

"Yeah, I think it's going to be good for him because he's been an only child up to this point," Duhamel continued. "And now he's going to have some responsibility. He's excited. He's going to be a great older brother, too. He's a really sweet-natured kid who loves babies, so I think this is kind of perfect."
