Joseph Gordon-Levitt is going to the stars for an upcoming project, the sci-fi thriller Sovereign.
The actor will play a man who travels up to a space station to find his estranged wife and the crew of the station, all of whom have gone missing.
Marc Munden will direct from a rewritten script by Jack Thorne, the playwright behind Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Shawn Levy will produce the project, along with his 21 Laps Entertainment partners Dan Levine and Dan Cohen. Sovereign will be the latest sci-fi focused project for the production banner behind Netflix's runaway success Stranger Things and upcoming alien-invasion feature Arrival.
Sierra/Affinity is financing Sovereign and will oversee international sales.
Gordon-Levitt was recently in theaters with Oliver Stone's Snowden, where he played the famous NSA whistleblower. The actor is repped by WME and Jackoway Tyerman.
