Jo's Coffee wants to see your ugly dog at 6th annual Ugly Dog Contest in October

While some may claim beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, at Jo's Coffee, they believe the uglier, the better when it comes to your dog.

When is Jo's Coffee 6th annual Ugly Dog Contest?

Jo's Coffee will host its 6th annual Ugly Dog Contest on Oct. 29 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Red River location at 1000 E 41st St. A runway show will begin at 1:30 p.m. The event is a collaboration with the Austin Humane Society to raise money for rescue animals.

How to register your dog?

Dog owners can register their pets on the Austin Humane Society website for $10 in one or more of the four categories available. Each entry includes a social media graphic of your dog, a memento, and other small gifts. All of the money raised will go to the Austin Humane Society. The deadline to register your dog is Oct. 13. They ask that each person who registers send their dog picture to events@austinhumanesociety.org.

The four categories that dog owners can register for include:

  • Ugly Dog Competition

  • Doggleganger Competition

  • Best Costume Competition

  • Best in Show Competition

How to vote for your favorite ugly dog?
