After Karl-Anthony Towns helped the Minnesota Timberwolves advance to the Western Conference Finals — their first appearance in the third round of playoffs in 20 years — Jordyn Woods celebrated her boyfriend's victory with a thoughtful message about the NBA star.

During a thrilling Game 7 on Sunday, May 19, Towns, 28, and the Timberwolves erased a 20-point deficit to the 2023 NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets, to advance to the next round, where they'll face the Dallas Mavericks.

After the game, Woods, 26, shared three photos of herself and Towns in a sweet moment after the win and wrote, "Western Conference Finals!!! Are you kidding me!?!? Couldn’t be happier for this team and most importantly Karl."

"He has overcome so much adversity to get to the point in his career, let alone knee surgery earlier this season," she continued. "I am so proud and in awe of him. 🥲 This is your moment! 🐺🤞🏽❤️."

Woods has been dating Towns since 2020 and has been a major support system for the NBA star during Minnesota's exciting season. From rocking custom designs of her boyfriend's jersey to accompanying him to postgame interviews, the model has been by Towns' side at nearly every game.

Timberwolves owner Alex Rodriguez also joined in on the celebration, posting about the team's victory on Instagram. "UNREAL NIGHT!!! I cannot express how proud I am of this team and this city. On to the next one," Rodriguez, 48, wrote.

In a fun video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Towns and his teammate, Anthony Edwards, joked about the Timberwolves' previously unsuccessful seasons during their postgame press conference.

A reporter suggested to Towns and Edwards, 22, that "NBA history" says a team has to "lose big" before finding success as a unit. The Minnesota stars reminded him that they lost in the playoffs last season, and the season before, with Towns joking, "How much more we gotta lose?"

Edwards quipped, "We’ve been losing the last 20 years!"

Towns posted 23 points, 12 rebounds and two assists on Sunday, while Edwards had 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the win.

When PEOPLE caught up with Towns at NBA All-Star Weekend in February, he credited Woods (who traveled to Indianapolis for the All-Star game) for helping him while he recovered from a grade 3 calf strain that kept him sidelined for nearly four months last year.

Towns said, "I've got an amazing woman at home so it makes those tough times not so tough," and revealed that the model has become a big basketball fan recently.

"We have those talks, we watch game film with each other, we watch lots of basketball with each other, and we’re dissecting the game. And she’s becoming more of a basketball savant," he shared.

"You know, with my mom and my sister, I’ve seen the impact that good women have on men’s lives, and I'm just blessed that I saw that firsthand before I got with Jordyn so that I could learn to appreciate her."
