Jordan Klepper Kinda Drops Fake Right Winger Act in Response to Trump Immigration Policy (Video)
With only two weeks left before “The Opposition” goes off the air for good (we’ll miss you guys, seriously), host Jordan Klepper seems ready to let it slip that he’s not really the hateful, conspiracy-peddling right wing nutjob he pretends to be. That seemed obvious during an appropriately vicious segment on Monday’s show, about Trump’s policy of separating undocumented immigrant children from their parents, called “This Is Who We Are.”
“If you think about it for a second. Literally only a second, it sounds really really bad, “Klepper said about the policy. “Like movie villain bad… But guys, don’t let them shame you.”
Klepper then urged Republicans to not “be afraid of these actions. You need to understand that this is who we are. We’re the side that supports separating kids from their parents. We’re the deplorables.”

Klepper mimed compassion for Trump voters and Trump administration members who “might be feeling a little itch in that fist-sized spot between your lungs,” but reassured them that it’s “just growing pains- sorry, shrinking pains. You’re working through the different stages of self-acceptance.”
Describing those stages as “denial, “blame, “appeal to a higher power,” and finally “acceptance,’ Klepper ended by imploring Trump supporters to “stop being so defensive. Stop pretending this isn’t your vision. Because this is who we are.”
