Joplin’s “Ghetto Tacos” wins accolade on “Best Bite in Town”

JOPLIN, Mo. — It’s official – Ghetto Tacos is the “Best Bite” in Joplin.
The food truck competed against five other Joplin restaurants back in August for Food Network’s Best Bite in Town.
Joplin featured on Food Network “Best Bite In Town”
In addition to bragging rights, Ghetto Tacos won $5,000 for the restaurant, and another $5,000 for a local suicide prevention nonprofit.
Their winning dish – Carnitas Mulitas.
Co-owner Marcos Renteria says his first Taco Tuesday after being crowned turned into a busy one.
“We never stopped. So we want to say thank you for all the customers and people that are coming and give us a try that have never been here before. Grateful for them to stop by and see us,” said Marcos Renteria, Ghetto Tacos Co-Owner.
Renteria says he never expected to bring home the win.
He wants to thank the customers whose reviews led to Ghetto Tacos being invited to the show in the first place.
