Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel Celebrate First Christmas Since Getting Engaged: 'We Christmased'

The 'Property Brothers' host and 'New Girl' got engaged during a family trip to Scotland in August

Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel are feeling merry.

The Property Brothers star, 45, and New Girl actress, 43, shared a joint Instagram post where they celebrated their first Christmas since getting engaged in August.

"We did it…we Christmased 😻🎄," they wrote alongside a sweet photo of the two posing in front of a Christmas tree filled with bright ornaments and multiple gift boxes underneath.

On Christmas Day, Scott also shared a festive photo alongside Deschanel.

"Merry Christmas from our family to yours. ❤️ I'm so grateful for everything that this year has brought. I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season ❤️," Scott captioned his Christmas post.

The television personality previously gave a look at their holiday home decor in an Instagram video in which he shared that they wanted a "wonderland full of whims."

Speaking to PEOPLE earlier this month, Jonathan's twin, Drew Scott, revealed they had gone all out decorating their Los Angeles home for the festive season.

"Because we don't have snow here in L.A., Jonathan got a snow machine, so he's going to be creating a snow [sledding hill]," Drew, 45, said. "So we'll bring [my son] Parker over, and the other kids are going to all be there. That's going to be pretty exciting." Drew and his wife, Linda Phan, welcomed Parker in May 2022.

Deschanel is mom to son Charlie Wolf, 6, and daughter Elsie Otter, 8, whom she shares with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik.

While speaking to PEOPLE, Jonathan said that the busy season would help prime him and Deschanel for the monumental task of planning their wedding.

"We're going to get through the holidays and then we've got — that's probably the ultimate party to plan. So we'll think of the holidays and our caroling party … we'll think of all of this as just a warmup to the big party," he said.

In October, the pair opened up about their engagement and relationship in a PEOPLE cover story.

"When we first started dating, Zooey posted a picture of us together. It might've been the very first time we ever posted anything on social media. And I remember I looked at it and I saw the first comment right below was, 'Why the hell is she with a Property Brother?!' I was like, 'Excuse me—rude!'" Scott recalled.
