Jonathan Majors has been found guilty of assault and harassment for attacking his ex-girlfriend in a car in March, The New York Times reports. The acclaimed actor was convicted on Monday (Dec. 18) in Manhattan. However, Majors, 34, was acquitted of two other separate counts of intentional assault and aggravated harassment.

On Thursday (Dec. 14), TMZ released footage showing Majors being chased by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The footage was shown in court and showed the fight between the couple as it transpired in the back of a vehicle. Jonathan could be seen lifting and placing Jabbari back in the car.

Prosecutors claim the interaction near the vehicles turned violent, with Majors assaulting the woman. This attack allegedly left Jabbari with a bloody gash behind her ear, a bruised finger, and her arm twisted.

Associated Press reports that Majors arrived at his apartment the next day and found her unconscious in his closet. He called 911 and alleged that she had attempted suicide, as recounted by Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry. “He called 911 out of concern for her, and his fear of what happens when a Black man in America came true,” Chaudhry said.

The cops could be seen in the video questioning her and examining her alleged injuries. It was at that moment that Jabbari told the police that Majors assaulted her, leading to the cops arresting Majors in March. Her legal team also shared pictures of her alleged injuries in court on Wednesday (Dec. 13).

In October, Majors issued a statement denying the allegations against him. He maintained that he was “entirely innocent.” And while the actor didn’t take the stand during the whirlwind trial, Chaudhry insisted that her client was a victim of Jabbari’s “white lies, big lies, and pretty little lies” created to get revenge.

Majors will receive his sentence on Feb 6, 2024.
