Jon Harmon Feldman & Jennifer Gwartz Sell ‘Lost Boys and Technicolor Girls’ Drama, ‘Ex-Best’ Comedy To Freeform

Jon Harmon Feldman and Jennifer Gwartz have sold two projects to Freeform via their Random Hill Productions banner, hourlong drama Lost Boys and Technicolor Girls based on Alice Berman’s upcoming book, and half-hour comedy Ex-Best based on the web series. The projects stem from Random Hill’s overall deal at ABC Studios and will be produced by cable/streaming division ABC Signature Studios in association with Random Hill.

Adapted by Jake Coburn, Lost Boys and Technicolor Girls centers on 18-year-old Thomas Zimmer who went missing seven years ago, splintering a tight-knit group of best friends on Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side. Seven years later, Thomas Zimmer turns up dead, launching a high-profile murder investigation that brings this group of twenty-somethings back together as murder suspects, rekindling old friendships and old flames, and threatening to expose their deepest darkest secrets.

Coburn, Gwartz and Feldman executive produce.

Comedy Ex-Best, is based on the web series Ex-Best created by Monica Hewes and Diana Gettinger, who will write the TV series version.

Ex-Best follows two women post friend-breakup as they try to do the conscious uncoupling thing without physically uncoupling. As the rift ripples into their personal and professional lives, Ex-Best uncovers what happens when your best friend isn’t your best friend anymore. (You can watch a trailer for the web series below)

Gwartz and Feldman serve as executive producers. Hewes and Gettinger will co-executive produce.

Random Hill’s Michael Greenwald brought in both projects and will oversee their development.

Feldman and Gwartz teamed up early last summer. Feldman previously served as showrunner on ABC’s Designated Survivor, while Gwartz headed television for Lin Pictures and is an executive producer on that company’s Fox series Lethal Weapon.
