Crooked Media announced that weekly series “Offline With Jon Favreau,” hosted by company co-founder and co-host of “Pod Save America,” will debut Oct. 24. New episodes of the eight-part series will drop on following Sundays on all podcast platforms. In the show Favreau will explore how the internet is slowly breaking our brains — and what we can do about it — with guests including newsmakers, political figures, artists, entertainers and writers. He said the new podcast has given him the chance to talk with people in different domains about “how we might be able to live healthier, more productive, and more fulfilling lives without disconnecting altogether.”

Imperative Entertainment and Vespucci have partnered on “Bonaparte,” a true-crime podcast series that follows the journey of attorney Anne Champion woman to help piece together events surrounding the mysterious and unsolved death of her childhood friend — 25 years later. The 10-part podcast series will premiere Oct. 26 on all major podcast platforms and Imperative Entertainment’s premium channel on Apple Podcast Subscriptions. “Bonaparte” is hosted by journalist and writer Jason Stavers, editor in chief at Prof G Media, founded by NYU professor and upcoming CNN Plus host Scott Galloway.
Discovery Plus and ID announced “Betrayal With Daryn Carp,” hosted by the true-crime podcaster, will premiere Oct. 25 with new episodes on following Mondays. Each episode will follow a different case how love has gone horribly wrong — covering everything from romantic relationships, familial bonds and even the sordid history of Chippendales. Guest hosts this season will include “Welcome To Your Fantasy” podcast host Natalia Petrzela; Obsessed Network’s Patrick Hinds; host of MTV’s “Catfish” Nev Schulman; and hosts of Discovery Plus’ “Unraveled,” Billy Jensen and Alexis Linkletter. Lemonada Media premiered its first true-crime podcast, “Believe Her,” hosted by journalist and author Justine van der Leun, on Oct. 21 on all major platforms. The series chronicles the story of Nikki Addimando, a young mother of two, who killed her partner in self-defense and was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for murder. Spotify’s Gimlet studio premiered Season 5 of “Where Should We Begin? With Esther Perel” on Oct. 21. In the show, therapist Esther Perel counsels real couples as they reveal their most intimate, personal, and complicated details of the conflicts that have brought them to her door. Podcast producer Somethin’ Else, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment and Vespucci, on Oct. 18 premiered “Hemingway’s Picasso.” The investigative podcast series explores the high-flying life and times of Stephen Kough — an NFL journeyman, male model, and one of the most well-connected smugglers in 1980s Miami. The series is hosted by writer and true-crime author Leah Carroll. The title refers to Kough’s most treasured piece of art: a beautiful ceramic sculpture, crafted by Picasso and gifted to Ernest Hemingway at the author’s Cuban home, the Finca Vigia — or so the story goes.
Spotify for Artists’ recently launched Noteable hub on Oct. 21 launched “Song Start,” a creator-focused video and podcast series hosted by Grammy-nominated songwriter Ali Tamposi and Armenian-American artist, activist and music industry veteran Tamar Kaprelian. “Song Start” debuted with 10 video episodes featuring artists including John Legend, Camila Cabello, Charli XCX and Phoebe Bridgers, along with 10 corresponding podcast episodes that dive deep into the topics of songwriting, production, business, music and mindset, featuring talent including Sam Smith, Hayley Williams and Take a Day Trip. “Song Start” is available at this link.
C13Features, the new podcast movie studio division of Cadence13, released the trailer for its first feature-length podcast movie, supernatural thriller “Treat,” starring Kiernan Shipka. Warner Bros., DC and Spotify announced the final casting for its upcoming podcast “Batman Unburied.” Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin,” “Diary of a Future President,” “Big Mouth”) joins David S. Goyer’s psychological thriller about the Caped Crusader, as Barbara Gordon, daughter of former police commissioner Jim Gordon and star detective for Gotham PD. Rounding out the cast are Sam Witwer (“The Mist,” “Supergirl”) as Gotham’s cannibalistic serial killer, The Harvester; Emmy Raver-Lampman (“The Umbrella Academy,” “Central Park”) as Kell, a sultry medical student helping Bruce Wayne while hiding a few secrets of her own; Jessica Marie Garcia (“On My Block,” “Diary of a Future President,” “How to Get Away with Murder”) as Barbara Gordon’s partner Renee Montoya; and Jim Pirri (“Penguins of Madasacar”) as corrupt cop Arnold Flass. “Batman: Unburied” will star Winston Duke as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler, Lance Reddick as Thomas Wayne, Toks Olagundoye as Martha Wayne, Jason Isaacs as Alfred, John Rhys-Davies as Dr. Hunter, and Ashly Burch as Vicki Vale.

BBC and Malcolm Gladwell’s Pushkin Industries announced that Pushkin will distribute BBC Radio 4’s “Elon Musk: The Evening Rocket” as a podcast in the U.S. and Canada, where it will premiere Nov. 1. Hosted by New Yorker staff writer Jill Lepore, the five-part series “untangles the strange sci-fi roots of Silicon Valley’s extreme capitalism” and explores Musk’s mission to save the world by colonizing Mars and making humanity a multi-planetary species, as per the BBC.
Media platform reVolver Podcasts inked a distribution deal for horror-noir audio drama “For Blood or Justice” featuring Danny Trejo.
