Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor is behind bars in Supergirl first-look photo

Lex Luthor has arrived on Supergirl.

On Wednesday, the CW released the first photo of Jon Cryer as Superman’s archnemisis. And the Two and a Half Men star looks downright villainous in the image, which shows him trapped behind bars in maximum security.

Cryer will start causing trouble in the 15th episode of the season, titled “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” (airing March 17). In this episode, an incarcerated Lex tries to enlist his younger sister Lena (Katie McGrath) in one of his plans “and will stop at nothing to get her on board, even if that means leveraging the life of one of her friends,” according to the network.

“The character is not that dissimilar to what we’ve seen in canon,” co-showrunner/executive producer Jessica Queller recently told EW about the show’s version of the character. “He just [has] a sparkle in his eye and is smarter than everybody in the room and 12 steps ahead of everyone, and just a large, delicious villain.”

Added co-showrunner/EP Robert Rovner: “He’s the biggest supervillain we’ve had on the show, and his plans will kind of touch every character and impact the entire season moving forward once he arrives.”

Supergirl airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
