Ultra Music Festival was treated to a special appearance from Jon Bon Jovi. The musician joined DJ Armin van Buuren on the main stage at the Miami music event. During the trance producer’s set on Sunday night, the pair premiered a pulsating remix of Bon Jovi’s 1992 single “Keep the Faith.”

“I remember being a little kid and buying this guy’s album,” van Buuren told the audience. “Ultra make some noise for this legend, Mr. Jon Bon Jovi!” Bon Jovi locked in for the performance, singing along to the mix from the stage risers while flames burst around them.

“It’s an incredible honor to remix this track and to share the stage with Jon Bon Jovi, as I’ve been a massive fan for years,” van Buuren shared in a statement. “This track is different from anything I’ve ever released before, and no better place to first share it with you all than on the Ultra mainstage.”

Bon Jovi’s appearance at the festival also marked a timely promotional opportunity. In celebration of their 40th anniversary, the band has set plans to release their first album in four years, Forever, on June 7. The record’s first single, “Legendary,” arrived earlier this month alongside the premiere of a four-part documentary at SXSW. Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story will be released on Hulu in April.

Over the four decades Bon Jovi has been together, their music has been remixed by the likes of Johnny Glovez, Klaas, Mad Brothers, and more. The frontman was reported to have been working on a collaboration with Avicii in the years before the Swedish producer’s death in 2018.

Van Burren’s Ultra Music Festival set also featured appearances from ARTBAT and Gryffin for their respective collaborations “Take Off” and “What Took You So Long.”
