Jon Bernthal Starring in Crime Thriller ‘Stingray’

Jon Bernthal has been set to star in the independent crime thriller “Stingray,” with sales starting at the upcoming American Film Market.

Anthony Hayes is directing from his own script. John and Michael Schwarz of Deeper Water are also producing.

Bernthal will play a man who accidentally kills the brother of a powerful crime figure. He’s then required to kill one of his own family in the next two days.

Producers are aiming to begin shooting “Stingray” in April in Canada.

Bernthal starred opposite Ben Affleck in “The Accountant,” portraying the brother of Affleck’s character. He also starred as Shane Walsh on the first two seasons of “The Walking Dead” and as The Punisher in Netflix’s season two of “Daredevil” and will next be seen in Edgar Wright’s crime thriller “Baby Driver.”

Hayes is a prominent Australian actor with credits on “Animal Kingdom,” “Rabbit Proof Fence” and “The Slap.”

Bernthal is repped by WME, Burstein Co., and Sloane Offer.
