From starting “gay pop” discourse to becoming a meme after debuting her new Kiss-inspired get-up, JoJo Siwa has been everywhere lately. Saturday Night Live even got on board, parodying the “Karma” singer’s viral makeover, a move that Siwa called “iconic.”

ICYMI: During SNL’s latest episode, which aired on May 4, cast member Chloe Fineman joined the show’s “Weekend Update '' segment as Siwa, sporting the now-classic bedazzled black bodysuit and eye paint.

“It’s a pretty big change,” Fineman’s Siwa said of her “bad girl” makeover. “I used to be rainbow sparkles, and now I’m black sparkles. I look like if a figure skater joined a street gang!”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that a former child star has embraced an edgy rebrand — Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato walked so “Karma” could run. But Siwa is attempting this shift as an openly queer star, which SNL also took time to satirize.

“I’ve completely reinvented myself. I mean, no one my age has done this,” Fineman told “Weekend Update” co-host Colin Jost. “[...] I’m 20 and gay. I’m the first gay girl in the world! Bet you never met a gay girl before!”

Jost also brought up Siwa’s recent interview, in which she told Billboard that she was excited to “start a new genre of music” called “gay pop.” She later clarified to TMZ that she merely wants to “bring more attention” to the music category, adding, “I’m not the creator, I’m not the president, but I might be the CEO.”

When a snippet of Siwa’s comments about “gay pop” made the rounds online, the backlash was swift.

“I think [gay pop is] maybe just pop,” Jost joked.

Some might consider getting spoofed on SNL to be bad karma, but not Siwa. The day after the segment aired (May 5), Siwa took to her Instagram to shout out the sketch, writing, “ICONIC.”

“I literally don’t know what to say,” she added. “This is fucking crazy. 3 and a half minute sketch on SNL….”

After all, as Siwa recently told Billboard, “Like it or not, you’re going to look.”

And she’s right! Wherever Siwa’s rebrand goes next, we are seated.
