Johnny Depp Refuses to Pay Amber Heard More Money in Divorce: She’s Trying to ‘Extend Her 15 Minutes of Fame’
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp‘s bitter divorce saga continues.
In new court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Depp is accusing Heard of desperately clinging to the spotlight by requesting for their divorce settlement to be reopened after they previously reached an agreement in August.
The 30-year-old actress filed a Request for Order motion with the court on Dec. 30 to enforce the $7 million settlement, which was to be donated to charity.
Heard claimed in the documents, “Johnny has not lived up to his obligation to me under the [settlement], including payments, allowing me to retrieve my personal property, transferring title of a vehicle to me and meeting regarding division of the furniture and furnishings in the residential units we occupied.”
The actress said she was eager to end her marriage.
She concluded, “Johnny has delayed the resolution of this matter. I want my life back. I want to be divorced now.”
Depp’s lawyer Laura Wasser, however, is challenging the motion in court. In the documents filed Dec. 30, she claims Heard’s request is “a blatant attempt to extend her fifteen minutes of fame” and “an embarrassing grab for additional and unwarranted attorney’s fees.”
Before Christmas, Depp’s legal team filed new court documents demanding Heard pay him $100,000 toward his attorneys’ fees and costs after the actress filed the “entirely unnecessary” Request for Order earlier in the month.
The Rum Diary costars became embroiled in a nasty court battle in May, when the actress filed to end her 15-month marriage to Depp and accused him of domestic abuse.

Depp’s lawyers have previously called Heard’s behavior throughout their divorce proceedings into question, stating that she’s acted “erratically” and “uncooperatively.”
“The impact of her relentless pursuit on Johnny — the damage her false allegations have caused his personal and professional reputation, his and his family’s emotional well-being, and his finances appears to be of no interest to Amber,” state the documents.
Depp also claims that Heard has continuously violated their confidentiality agreement “almost weekly.”
In November, Heard partnered with the #GirlGaze Project for a new video about domestic violence, and briefly shared her personal story, but did not mention Depp by name.
“Amber wants to maintain the media’s attention and thereby preserve her own fleeting relevance,” Depp’s latest filing claims.
A court hearing on the motion is scheduled for Jan. 13.
