Johnny Depp Asks Judge to Reject Amber Heard's Claim for Spousal Support: Report

Johnny Depp's Friend Doug Stanhope Speaks Out About His Controversial Amber Heard Essay, Claims Depp Said, 'Hey, Thanks for Being Honest'

The divorce between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard may already be getting acrimonious.

According to TMZ, Depp has asked the judge to refuse Heard's demand for spousal support. The 52-year-old actor filed the response through his lawyer, Laura Wasser – one of the most high-powered celebrity divorce attorneys in Hollywood.

Heard filed for divorce from Depp after 15 months of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The split comes just days after Depp's mother passed away at the age of 81.

The couple married in February 2015 after first meeting on the set of 2011's The Rum Diary. Depp has two children from a previous relationship with his girlfriend of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis.

Heard denied breakup rumors in an interview with Marie Claire in November.

"I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives, but it is strange and hard," she said.

Aside from an apology video for illegally bringing two of their dogs into Australia, the duo hasn't been photographed together for months. Heard attended the Met Gala in May alone, while Depp has been promoting Alice Through the Looking Glass without his wife by his side.
