Johnny Depp Animated Movie ‘Johnny Puff: Secret Mission’ Seals Deals Ahead Of 2024 Release; Images, Trailer Revealed

EXCLUSIVE: Johnny Depp animated movie Johnny Puff: Secret Mission has sold to German-speaking Europe (Little Brother), Korea (AK Entertainment), Spain (Melies), Portugal (NOS Audiovisuais), Middle East (FrontRow) and Turkey (Wediacorp) ahead of the AFM in LA later this month.

Nestor F. Dennis has directed the movie, which is inspired by the Puffins series featuring Johnny Depp as Johnny Puff, and produced by Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment (Ferrari).

In the film, Johnny Puff helps his Puffin friends as they go on a secret mission to save their beloved village Taigasville from the evil plans of villain Otto von Walrus. Click here to watch the first trailer for the movie and see first images below.

Discussions are underway over North American distribution with a Q1, 2024 release in the offing ahead of the international rollout.

In the Puffins franchise, the characters adopt an idiosyncratic dialect, which Depp has previously described as a mesh of his own voice and real Puffin sounds. The movie’s life lessons include recycling, environmental protection, and team spirit.

Pic is produced by Cristobal Rodriguez and Nestor F. Dennis at Melies Producciones, in participation with U.S. companies WWPS and Evolution. Italian firm Iuvit is handling sales on the project. Iuvit’s lineup also includes animated feature Sato, A Dog’s Tale, and the live-action features The Fall, Fight Pride, Tiger Bones, Gilgamesh, and Harmony.

Depp is currently in production on Amedeo Modigliani biopic Modi, which he is directing.

Depp is represented by Range Media Partners; Nestor F. Dennis is represented by Palao Bernabeu Abogados.
