"Dukes of Hazzard" star John Schneider is finally one step closer to finalizing his divorce, even though he's already moved on to a new wife.
According to L.A. County Court records, Schneider's estranged wife, Elly, filed a judgment package on September 19 that notified the judge in their case that the divorce has been settled.
The filing was expected, as the judge recently made a ruling over all the financial loose ends that were holding up the split between the two.
As we reported, Schneider owed his ex a ton of cash in temporary spousal support, and even spent 3 days in county jail because he failed to pay up on the amount.
Back in August, a judge sided with Elly and legally slapped Schneider for skirting his financial obligations.
She was awarded sole ownership of the former couple's marital home, and she also received an investment account worth over $60,000.
The judge also ordered Schneider to cover all Elly's legal fees, which are estimated near $280,000 for the 5 years of litigation between the two.
Along with the penalties, Schneider was ordered to pay Elly $25,000 per month in spousal support.
Schneider and Elly were originally married on July 11, 1993. They had one daughter together, Karis.
Elly filed for divorce on December 12, 2014 and the two have been arguing ever since.
The TV star did not let the pending divorce slow down his personal life, as Schneider recently tied the knot with his manager and producing partner, Alicia Allain.
Good news is, he'll soon be able to make the new marriage official!
