John Oliver warns Meghan Markle about joining 'fundamentally flawed' royal family

John Oliver visited The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and when the upcoming royal wedding of England’s Prince Harry and America’s Meghan Markle was mentioned, Oliver warned the future princess that it could be a royal pain.

Oliver said, “I would not blame her if she pulled out of this at the last minute. I don’t think you need to have seen the pilot episode of The Crown to realize you are marrying into a family that could cause her some emotional complications.”

Oliver also warned Markle that joining the royal family may seem like a fairy tale but is more likely a cautionary tale. Oliver said, “They’re an emotionally stunted group of fundamentally flawed people doing a very silly pseudo-job. That’s what she’s marrying into. So I hope she likes it. It’s going to be weird for her.”

The royal couple plans to marry on May 19 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
