John Oliver Compares Donald Trump to Bed of Nails
On Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, the host went on another rant aimed at Donald Trump. Oliver compared Trump to a bed of nails, saying, “Trump hasn’t said one crazy thing — he’s said thousands of crazy things. Each of which blunts the effect of the others. It’s the bed-of-nails principle.” He continued: “If you step on one nail, it hurts you. If you step on a thousand nails, no single one stands out and you’re fine.”
Oliver pointed out that there was one thing Trump recently said that does stand out, and it was when he was being interviewed by George Stephanopoulos. A fallen soldier’s parents spoke at the Democratic National Convention, and Trump had some less-than-respectful comments about his mother — and this was almost too much for Oliver to bear.
