John Mulaney channeled Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra at the old ball game in Chicago on Saturday.

The comedian and Chicago native was honored with the role of "game conductor" during Saturday's Major League Baseball game at Wrigley Field stadium between the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets.

As part of his job, the "Saturday Night Live" alum was honored with the duties of singing the baseball classic "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

Mulaney wore a custom Cubs jersey with his name across the back and a matching baseball cap as he sang in the broadcaster's booth to a crowd of 41,000 fans.

He issued a countdown from three before singing: "Take me out to the ball game, take me out with the crowd / Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, I don't care if I never get back / Let me root, root, root for the home team, if they don't win, it's a shame / Cause it's one, two, three strikes, you're out at the old ball game."

Mulaney's partner Olivia Munn sang along from the VIP boxes as she proudly watched the comedian on the jumbotron. Munn also had her phone out to capture the moment.

Baseball media outlet Jomboy shared a clip of Mulaney's rendition, tweeting, "John Mulaney with a tremendous performance of Take Me Out to the Ball Game at Wrigley."

Cubs announcers Jon "Boog" Sciambi and Jim Deshaies described Mulaney's rendition as "right up there" with the version by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Despite Mulaney's hopeful spirit in the ninth inning, the team lost to the Mets 4-3 in the double-header game.

The Cubs game was the latest of the standup comedian's stop in his home city. Thursday through Saturday, he performed three shows of his From Scratch tour at United Center in Chicago.
