John Mulaney & Olivia Munn Show the Strength of Their Relationship at Governors Awards

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney had a big night at the Governors Awards on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Not only did they put on their formal finest, but they also made their red-carpet debut as a couple. Their very affectionate moment gave fans a big indication into how their relationship is going.

Munn looked stunning in a white structured top and skirt designed by  Maticevski while Mulaney was dapperly dressed in a classic tuxedo for the event. The dynamic duo kept their hands tightly clasped while they posed for the photographers, but they even made time to gaze into each other’s eyes. The 41-year-old comedian also made a chivalrous gesture when he sweetly kissed his 43-year-old girlfriend’s hand. They looked totally in love on that red carpet.

Munn and Mulaney began dating in 2021, but it began at warp speed since she was pregnant early in their relationship with their son, Malcolm Hiệp, 2. Their dating situation got off to a bit of a rocky start because fans questioned Mulaney’s timeline after he split with swift Annamarie Tender in May 2021 and Munn gave birth to his son in November of that same year. This was also on the heels of his addiction recovery, so it was a very pivotal year for them.

The former Saturday Night Live star clarified that timeline in a September 2021 appearance on the Late Night With Seth Meyers, noting he left rehab in October 2020 and moved “out of my home from my ex-wife.” He then relapsed again, got out in February 2021 and “then in the spring I went to Los Angeles and met and started to date a beautiful woman named Olivia.” He praised The Newsroom star for helping him through his newfound sobriety. “She’s kind of held my hand through that hell,” he said to Meyers.

Meyers has been a key person in their relationship since the duo first met at the late-night TV host’se wedding to Alexi Ashe in 2013. “We were at a wedding together and I was like ‘Oh my gosh, do you and your fiancée want to go have dinner or something and go hang out?'” Munn shared with HuffPost Live in 2015. “At first it was cool, and then I kept going up to him at the wedding like, ‘So, you having fun?’ I was just so obsessed with hanging out with and talking with him.” Munn revealed that she later emailed him, but never received a response.  “I might’ve got the wrong email — probably,” she joked. “That’s what I tell myself.”
