John Legend shut down reports that his luggage had been stolen by his livery cab driver when he landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on Thursday (March 23).

The New York Daily News initially reported that a livery cab driver had stolen Legend's travel bag. TMZ followed up on the report claiming that a Delta greeter had left Legend's bag unattended before it was swiped, noting that the contents were worth $30,000, including pricey clothes, eyeglasses and Cartier Panther cuff links.

The singer caught wind of the report on Twitter (March 24) and called the story false and confirmed that he had retrieved his bag.

"This story is untrue. We use a trusted car service and they did not rob me. Our Delta greeter made a mistake and left a bag on the cart," he tweeted. "The bag was taken because it was left unattended. The airport police caught the person who took it (on video) and retrieved my bag."

He also used beloved Get Out character, TSA agent Rod Williams (played by Lil Rel Howery), to confirm that the situation was taken care of and thank the airport police and security staff.
