John Legend, AKA, the Sexiest Man Alive, is giving us exactly what we want this time of year — more holiday music! While some of us may have been blasting Mariah Carey since October, it’s now officially an appropriate time to whip out your favorite holiday albums — and add Legend’s new track to your mix. Legend and Chrissy Teigen recorded a Christmas song with daughter Luna, and you won’t want to miss the cuteness.
Legend made a new video for Amazon where he talks about the process of recording “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)” with his family: “It was such an inspiring recording session,” he shares. “I got to include my wife and daughter in the process, and we all came together to sing a beautiful song that needs to be heard.”

Legend’s new track will be streaming exclusively on Amazon Music and within seconds of listening, you’ll get full-on cuteness. “Happy Christmas, Luna,” dad Legend whispers. “Happy Christmas, Miles,” mom Teigen whispers next. Then 3-year-old Luna jumps in: “Happy Christmas, Daddy and Mommy!”
In his video Legend talks about why he chose this particular song.
“What’s interesting about “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)” is that it was written when the war wasn’t over,” he explains. “John Lennon and Yoko Ono were speaking to that angst, to that fear, to that desire for peace among so many people.”
“I think it’s a good message for us right now, that whatever we’re fighting for, we want the fight to be won, we want there to be justice,” he adds. “But this song reminds us that there’s still work to do, and, hopefully, it will inspire people to keep working.”
