John Cena Reflects On His Rivalry With The Rock
John Cena discusses The Rock‘s impact on his career.
On March 5, the newest episode of WWE Rivals on A&E will chronicle the rivalry between the two megastars. In a tweet ahead of the show, Cena reflected on his time working with “The Great One” by saying that he wouldn’t be who he is today without him, professionally and personally.
Cena then stated that The Rock challenged him, demanded his best, and forced him to address his flaws. He also noted that his on-screen feud with The Rock took his core value of respect to a new level.
Relive this epic @WWE rivaly thru those who lived it. I wouldnt be who I am 2day w/o @TheRock. Professionally & personally. He challenged me, demanded my best, forced me to address my flaws w/ the world watching! Respect is a core value for me…this took it to new level! https://t.co/4qaKp4hP99

“The Brahma Bull” kicked off the feud by attacking Cena during his match with The Miz at WrestleMania 27. They then teamed up together to face The Miz and R-Truth at Survivor Series 2011. Cena and The Rock memorably headlined both WrestleMania 28, with their “Once in a Lifetime” match, and WrestleMania 29, where Cena beat The Rock to win the WWE Championship.
These days, Cena and The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) are two of the most popular stars in Hollywood; Cena will star in Fast X, while Johnson was the lead in Black Adam. Johnson is also the co-owner of the NXFL, which kicked off its return season in February.
Cena will return to WWE on the March 6 episode of WWE RAW.
