John Candy's kids are paying tribute to their dad three decades after his death.

On Monday, Jennifer Candy-Sullivan posted a sweet throwback family photo of herself with her late father and younger brother Chris Candy, posing with John outdoors.

"30 years ago today … feels like both a lifetime with and without you," wrote Jennifer, 44. "Miss you and love you always ❤️ #johncandy."

Chris, 39, shared a snapshot of the Uncle Buck actor in a multicolored Hawaiian-print shirt, smiling for the camera under a ray of sunlight.

"All my love to my father today. #johncandy," Chris wrote in the photo's caption.

The Canada native, who died of cardiac arrest on March 4, 1994, at age 43, was remembered on Monday by friends and colleagues who told PEOPLE the Spaceballs star was “just as lovely as you’d want him to be,” to quote his former SCTV and Home Alone costar Catherine O’Hara.

“John’s comedy lives on, but my memory of him has the words 'kindness' and 'sweetness' in the headlines,” Candy’s Planes, Trains and Automobiles costar Steve Martin told PEOPLE.

While the Splash actor loved making those around him crack up, he also appreciated hearing some good humor, too.

"When you were with John, he did something very few brilliantly funny and famous people do: He laughed at other people's jokes,” said Jon Turteltaub, who directed Candy in the 1993 sports comedy Cool Runnings.

Added Turteltaub, 60, of the late star, “That's actually a big deal. He made people feel welcome. He made people feel wanted.”

Chris and Jen previously honored their late father last year on the 29th anniversary of his death, with photo tributes on social media.

"You will always be around ❤️ You will always be missed ❤️ You will always be loved ❤️," Jen captioned an adorable photo from her childhood, smiling in the kitchen with her dad.

"Sending love to my father today. 29 years ago you started a new journey," Chris wrote in his caption, alongside a snapshot of Candy. "I miss you and think of you often. I still think of you daily. Loss is never easy but I can optimistically say it is one of the great teachers in life."

PEOPLE confirmed in October 2022 that the Candy family is working with Canadian countryman Ryan Reynolds and Colin Hanks on a documentary about the actor and comedian's legacy, through Reynolds' Maximum Effort production company.

"The Candy family is giving Maximum Effort access to his archive and home video footage," a rep for Reynolds told PEOPLE at the time.
